Abby & Jordyn’s Oceanside Engagment Portraits
If i’ve said it once, i’ve said it a zillion times at this point—I don’t want to be a stranger walking in to anyones wedding.
It’s not my jam. But let me tell you, one of my favorite times of years is meeting all my future couples. I love getting to know them a little bit and breaking the ice before I show up on one of the most important days of their lives with a camera and start fluffing out dresses and pinning boutonnieres.
“Hi, i’m Amanda- nice to meet you. let me, a stranger, just fix your wedding dress 900 times”- things no amanda wants to say
I want people to meet me and see how I work. I want everyone to get the weirdness out and start to get comfortable moving and interacting like I am not even there to begin with. The goal for my engagement sessions, whether you’ve booked your wedding with me or not, is to capture your love in the most authentic way we can. I am so excited to share Abby & Jordyn’s engagement portrait session as the whole evening was so gorgeous and if you know these two they are the flipping bees knees. Beginning to end- we definitely captured their love.
Here are my hot takes for having the best engagement session ever.
Choose a spot that means something to you both
And if you can’t get to that specific spot, because it’s somewhere like here, first ask because that is ALSO MY HAPPY PLACE, but if we can’t hop on a 13 hour flight tomorrow, let’s try to get as close as possible.
feel free to switch up those outfits!
You don’t need to do a full wardrobe change, but having an evening outfit then an outfit to watch the sun go down gives you a nice mix and then a fun fancier outfit to go out to dinner afterwards. Because- who are we kidding? A yummy meal (and a cocktail or two) to celebrate the adventure coming in the next few months is also a must.
