A Newburyport Wedding(ish)
When it hurricanessssssss on your wedding day
Then you regroup, find me and we go for a wildly gorgeous walk in Newburyport along the water and take some truly breathtaking portraits. Obviously. One of the things that I talk to all of my wedding couples about is my flexibility with engagement portraits. If it looks like it will be torrentially down pouring, or just miserably cold and yucky- we reschedule. Why? Because if there is one thing we have no control over is the weather on your wedding day.
Some times it’s perfect, sometimes it’s a hurricane.
So when I got the call that Maxine and Matt wanted to get fully re-dressed up and recreate some amazing wedding portraits I was super pumped. All the glam of a wedding day without the pressure or time crunch of an actual wedding. We bopped around to a few locations that have that wonderful coastal vibe as their wedding day was ocean side, and although we knew that the photos would look completely different from their actual wedding day- we went for it.
Can we normalize after wedding portraits? Ha.
The fun thing about a 90 minute session is definitely the option to do some location hopping like we did that evening. Chasing the sunset is equal parts stressy & exciting. Hoping that we land in the exact spot we need to at the exact time. This night we did it all. We hit the exact spots we needed to find with the exact lighting at the exact time. I always wax poetic about the area we live in, but truly- the greater Newburyport area is such a gem. We can get in those magical pops of foliage right alongside quiet beach front. Then finding the perfect open space, quiet and calm with a lovely breeze. I adore these portraits, I hope you do too.
