New England Engagement Photos

Chasing Sunset In the Late Summer Sun

If you live in New England right now I am willing to bet you are teetering on the verge of a complete snow induced menty b. We haven’t had snow on April 4th in 8 years. EIGHT. How do I know that you might ask? Because 8 years ago I was in the hospital completely exhausted and full of shock and awe welcoming my first little human into the world. And guess what, everyone drove to meet him in the frigging snow. I guess we should be feeling ok- once every 8 years isn’t bad. BUT WHAT THE HELL. I don’t want to put my snow boots on anymore. I just put them away. New Englanders are NOT OK. We have been sunshine deprived for far too long.

Today I felt like it was fitting to share something that was so warm you could almost feel that sticky hot late summer weather through your screen. These photos are full of early fall sunshine, thick with contrast and warmth. Warm enough outside still to ditch the coats but knowing as soon as that sun dipped past the horizon line the fall air would be crisp. I love nights like this so much, working or home. When the zapping 900 degree days start to dwindle down and give us that magical all too short New England autumn. I loved taking and editing these engagement pictures so much. Kerstin and Conner came in ready to shake off the awkwardness and have some fun during these photos and they just radiate love. We took our time and got to hop around to a few different spots- which is always so great on my end. Having some different backdrops in your photos just gives you more options. I like to always try to think how I would want to (and do have) photos on my wall that were taken at the same time but just ever so slightly different. Just to mix it up a bit! I have so many engagement portraits on deck right now just waiting for this HORRIFYING weather to go away and I am so so truly excited to meet you all! Take some inspo from these pics and dream of feeling warm!

Stay strong New Englanders!
